SK INITIUM LIMITED T/A FISCHER TRANSPORT
Wakefield, UK
Statement Date: 3 October 2025
SK INITIUM LIMITED T/A FISCHER TRANSPORT (“the Company”) is committed to ensuring that modern slavery and human trafficking do not occur within our business or our supply chain. This statement sets out the steps we have taken and the actions we intend to take to ensure compliance with Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It is signed by a director on behalf of the Board of Directors.
As a UK-based transport and logistics company operating from our headquarters in Wakefield, we provide reliable freight and passenger services across the region and beyond. Our workforce includes drivers, warehouse staff, and administrative personnel, and we rely on a network of suppliers and subcontractors to deliver our services. We recognise that the transport sector can be vulnerable to modern slavery risks, particularly in recruitment, subcontracting, and international supply chains.
Our Commitment
We are committed to:
– Preventing acts of modern slavery and human trafficking from occurring in our operations and supply chain.
– Protecting our employees, contractors, and suppliers from any form of exploitation.
– Ensuring transparency in our own business and in our approach to modern slavery and human trafficking.
– The Board of Directors approves this statement and will review and update it annually.
– Due Diligence and Risk Assessment
We conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential modern slavery risks in our operations and supply chain. This includes:
– Mapping our supply chain, with a focus on high-risk areas such as recruitment agencies, vehicle maintenance suppliers, and international freight partners.
– Evaluating suppliers through questionnaires and audits to assess their compliance with modern slavery standards.
– Prioritising due diligence for new suppliers and high-volume contracts.
In the financial year ending 31 December 2024, we identified low to medium risk levels in our direct operations but higher risks in subcontracted driver services. As a result, we have implemented enhanced screening for all subcontractors.
Supplier Policies and Contracts
We require all suppliers and subcontractors to:
– Comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and equivalent international standards.
– Provide evidence of their own modern slavery policies and training programs.
– Include anti-slavery clauses in contracts, allowing for termination in cases of non-compliance.
We reserve the right to audit suppliers and will not work with any entity found to be in breach of modern slavery laws.
Training and Awareness
To foster a culture of vigilance:
– All employees receive mandatory annual training on modern slavery indicators, reporting procedures, and ethical sourcing.
– Our induction program for new hires includes a module on human rights and trafficking risks specific to the transport industry.
– We promote awareness through internal communications, such as posters in our Wakefield depot and email campaigns.
– In 2025, we plan to expand training to include scenario-based workshops for managers and drivers.
Reporting Mechanisms
We encourage anyone to report concerns about modern slavery or human trafficking without fear of reprisal. Reports can be made to:
– Our Designated Officer: Sonsoles Villechenous – Director at admin@fischertransport.co.uk or by calling 0330 043 5911 .
– Anonymously via our whistleblowing hotline: [Insert Hotline Number or Third-Party Service, e.g., Speak Up Line].
– All reports are investigated promptly and confidentially, in line with our grievance procedure.
Monitoring and Review
We monitor our performance through:
– Key performance indicators (KPIs) such as supplier audit completion rates and training uptake.
– Annual reviews of this statement by the Board, incorporating feedback from employees and stakeholders.
– Collaboration with industry bodies like the Road Haulage Association to stay abreast of best practices.
This statement will be published on our website (www.fischertransport.co.uk) and made available to all stakeholders.
